Allow your inner light to shine..
Have you lost your sparkle and shine? Come along and join me for a transformational week at this magical retreat centre nestled in the beautiful Sabine hills, just outside of Rome in Italy, and let's allow our inner light to shine again.
Maybe you feel that you never get time just for you, and you feel the need to unplug, be in beautiful surroundings with like minded people and where there are no expectations of you, you can allow yourself to just "be."
Enjoy a blissful week, where you can enjoy this stunning countryside, enjoy energising, detoxifying, relaxing and restorative yoga with amazing views, watch the most stunning sunsets and enjoy inspiring conversations under the stars.
Enjoy amazingly tasty and healthy food, prepared with love and leave feeling nourished and glowing on every level.
You awake in the morning.....you walk outside and feel the grass beneath your bare feet, you make yourself a tea and walk towards the stone seats by the pond, and sit in silence, looking at the beautiful landscape, or meditate and contemplate, the day, the week or your whole life from a sense of spaciousness and possibility. After some time you make your way to the beautiful hillside shala and enjoy an awakening and energising morning vinyasa flow practice. After a beautiful savasana, you join your fellow yoginis as you tuck into a nourishing, tasty and healthy breakfast....as you drink your coffee or tea and eat your breakfast you wonder if food always tastes this good - or is it because you are away from your normal routine...and someone else has lovingly prepared it for you, or is it because you are eating outside with the sun shining?
After some time you contemplate what you would like to do for the rest of the day.....maybe a walk in the rolling hills, maybe some time by the pool, just chilling or swimming in the water....maybe you feel drawn to one of the hammocks and spend time journalling, drawing, or reading.......maybe there is an interesting conversation going on and you feel inspired to join in, maybe you feel quiet and you want to take yourself off for some quiet time and enjoy solitude, peace and quiet.....
Yoga and more...
This retreat will run from Saturday to Saturday and we will enjoy 2 yoga practices most days, with a beautiful energising practice in the morning before breakfast and a more restorative, reflective practice in the afternoon before dinner. There will be 12 practices over the week.
In addition to our yoga practice, there will be optional meditation and yoga nidra sessions. As I have a background as a hypnotherapist, I love taking people on deep inner journeys through these nidra sessions and I know many of my clients and students love these experiences. During the journeying, we will find deep parts of ourselves and connect in to our true self, reclaim the parts we have ignored, embrace our inner child and connect with our future self.....
There will also be guided journalling time for those who wish to take part...
We are in the most stunning area, amongst fruit trees, olive groves, and rolling hills, so as well as yoga and relaxation you may wish to join me for a hike in the hills.
In Sabina Retreat Centre
I have been on the "waiting list" to be able to run a retreat at this amazing centre and so I was delighted to be offered a week in 2017 and we all loved it so much, I am returning in 2018. For those of you who know me, know that I love to be outside and to practise yoga connected to nature and so when I saw the yoga shala here, on the hillside with stunning views I fell in love!! There is also an inside yoga room which is beautiful and serene and still has magnificent views. Both yoga shalas are fully equipped so there is no need to bring anything with you, unless of course you have a favourite mat!
The property and grounds are beautifully designed to reflect the natural environment, making this a unique place to recharge and immerse yourself in nature.
Two lovingly restored 17th-century stone buildings overlook an undulating panorama of olive groves and fruit trees. There are three terraces where you can relax and watch the stunning sunsets. A magnificent yoga platform sits in the valley, surrounded by verdant nature and wildlife, with a natural spring and lily pond nearby.
A stroll through the house and gardens reveals many original works by local and international artists who have been inspired by their stay at In Sabina. The extensive grounds are a joy to explore, with sheltered spaces for reading and meditation.
Inside, rooms are designed in a simple, natural style, a combination of old and new. Every guest room is unique. Furnishings and fabrics complement the buildings and their natural surroundings, creating a calm environment which is comfortable, practical and ideal for spiritual practice.
Selected by Taschen as one of the ‘Great Yoga Retreats’ (2009), In Sabina is described as “a second home that makes you forget the passing of time”.
There are several choices of accommodation. You can choose between beautiful, individually decorated rooms in the charming farmhouse or if you prefer to be close to nature, there are 3 wonderful yurts. Some of the rooms in the farmhouse have ensuite, there are 4 that don't have ensuites, but they have 2 full bathrooms to share. For those who choose the yurt accommodation, there is a toilet and 2 warm outside showers.
If we fill to capacity in the farmhouse, there are also 2 beautiful rooms avaialable in an annexe a few minutes away.
Whilst I know quite a few of my regulars prefer to be close to nature, if you chose the yurt, please be aware that they are just 3m in diameter, so it is recommended that they are for sole use, unless you are good friends sharing and know each other well!
We will have our own chef who will provide healthy, tasty, vegetarian food that will nourish both our bodies and our souls. It is important that when food is prepared it is prepared with love and where better for that to happen than in Italy.
We will be served with 3 healthy, tasty meals per day and there will also be a self service place by the pool for unlimited teas, coffee and herbal teas. I hear there is a herb garden by the pool where we can pick our own herbs to make herbal tea.
On the last night, Friday, the chef has a day off and we will all go into the village to enjoy local food at a recommended restaurant.
